Free Online Training to Help Employers Implement New Workplace Harassment Regulations

Nova Scotia — Provincially regulated employers are reminded that effective September 1, 2025, all workplaces must comply with new Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations regarding workplace harassment and have a harassment prevention policy in place. These changes are part of the Stronger Workplaces Nova Scotia Act, proclaimed in Fall 2024.

To support employers in meeting these new requirements, the Atlantic Home Building & Renovation Sector Council has partnered with Employer Advisor Nova Scotia (OEA NS) to offer free online training on what the new regulations mean and how to implement them effectively.

Participants will receive a ready-to-use policy template and learn how to adapt it to their workplace. In addition, OEA NS will explain how they can provide further support to finalize policies, review intersecting practices, and help introduce the new policy to employees.

The session will be hosted by Tom Champion, Lawyer and Employer Advisor with OEA NS, who brings extensive experience helping employers navigate complex workplace issues, including workers’ compensation, employment practices, harassment investigations, appeals, and OHS compliance.

Event Details:
Date: August 6, 2025

Employers are encouraged to bring questions and real workplace scenarios for discussion during the session.
